The Muse Never Sleeps

Drawing-a-Day number 19

Iris the Art Muse is back. Well, really she never left. Now she’s thinking she might want her own zine. What do you think?

Made with Micron Pigma pens, Prismacolour markers, and a Faber-Castell white marker. Tinkered with a bit in Photoshop, just because I could.

  1. Oh yes! May print that out and hang it on the wall in my tiny studio! Sometimes she may be getting on our nerves, but isn’t it wonderful to have such a muse, to have more ideas than we can usually put into practice?

    • It is great to have our muses! Mine actually has a great sense of humour. Not sure if the and doesn’t seem to mind me poking fun at her — in fact, she’s egging me on. You might not get a good print-out from the size file I have on here. But my tumblr has a pen-and-ink version, that would probably print out OK, and you could colour it yourself! Maybe I should make a muse colouring book! Uh-oh, she’s at it again…

  2. I’m Searching for a new muse. I need a pushier one than I had. I need one willing to kick my butt. 😀

    • Iris will inquire amongst her sisters to see if any of them are available and suitably ferocious. But she says that perhaps your current muse is merely bored and a little out of shape — give her a daily task with a deadline and that may perk her up! Muses need a workout, just like we do!

    • In the Peter S. Beagle book? It’s been a long time since I read that, I’ll have to re-read it if that’s the one you mean. The cat is my cat Mak, and he has his own comic — it’s in the sidebar on my blog if you want to have a look. He’s the one that keeps me awake on the other end of the night!
