Just a quick post tonight — It’s been a long day of watercolour painting! I thought it might be interesting to show some different expressions of Spam the Cat from today’s panels. Right now I’m painting the pages where he encounters his first pickle of the story, and he’s trying to talk his way out of it. I wanted to keep him as close to looking like a realistic cat as possible, but still have him be as expressive as a human. The ones where there are really extreme things happening, I’m allowing him to have exaggerated big eyes and such, but the subtler expressions, like these, are a bit harder.
