A Ginger Tabby Logo

I started today by going back to painting, after many very long days on the computer. It felt good. I was working on some images for the cover of Spam and the Sasquatch. Having the pen and the brush in my hand was very soothing! More about the cover soon — for now, here’s a stripy logo I made for Spam, and a picture of our three dashing heroes.

If Spammy were letters instead of a cat, he'd look like this.

This was adapted from one of the panels in the book, but I wanted some different coloration (in the panel our three heroes are stepping back out into the night) and I also didn't want a background. Painting it all over again was faster than taking it out in Photoshop and changing the colours.

(In case you’re just tuning in: Spam and the Sasquatch is an upcoming graphic novel written by Elizabeth Ann Scarborough with visual storytelling by me! Currently I’m posting several times a week rather than daily; my regular Technique-of-the-Week Saturday posts are on hold until I get this project wrapped up. )
