Spam-the-Cat Gets His Stripes

Spam the Cat Maquette went for his first outing yesterday, and charmed his adoring public — but without his stripes. Tonight I finished his paint job so that he is now a proper ginger tabby. Here’s some pictures of his new striped state! He is now complete, and I’ll soon give him his own page along with teasers from the graphic novel — stay tuned for that!

close-up of the fur treatment, pre-stripes: after the last post, where Spam got the orange base coat for the stripy parts, I lightly brushed a lighter colour over the orange to bring out the texture of his fur. I stroked the brush across the high points of the fur, rather then with the direction of it, so that I didn't fill in the valleys.

I added some "mascara" around his eyes to bring out the green glow.

Spam can't decide which is his "good side". I guess that means I gave him a good paint job!

"Hey, how do I look?"

A view of Spam's knickers. I love how furry kitties look as if they are wearing bloomers!
