Whale Candy

Inktober is cooking along nicely on day 4. And good news— I’m winding up the humongous book illustration project that has had me cooped up in the art cave for most of the summer, growing pale and wan from living on crackers and cheese and tea, my eyes growing dim and huge like a mole’s… oh well, it’s not actually all that bad, but I’ve got a serious case of cabin fever, folks! Not to mention a pile of laundry.

In the meantime, doing Inktober has been very soothing, and I’m enjoying the challenge of relating animals to the daily prompt words. Today’s is pretty self-explanatory; I have to confess that I did not think up the Snickers comparison myself, though I did check the math. It’s right.

I pulled back on my colours this time — I mean, it’s a blue whale, in the deep blue sea, after all! I did find an indigo pen in my stash, and gleefully pulled it out for the whale’s expando-chin lines.

I'd love to know — what do you think about this?
