Today I’m going to post a whole page, just because I like the way it came out. Spam has encountered his pal Rocky the Vampcat, or Catpire if you prefer, while walking along the beach at night. I like the symmetry of this page, with the encounter at the top, the two portraits in the middle tier, and the cat buds hanging out looking at the moon at the bottom. No hints as to what they’re talking about though — I’m not giving away the plot!

This is page 26. So many more to gooooooo! The colours are limited; Daniel Smith indigo and cerulean and a touch of Winsor yellow.
(In case you’re just tuning in: Spam and the Sasquatch is an upcoming graphic novel written by Elizabeth Ann Scarborough with visual storytelling by me! I’m in the middle of an epic paint-a-thon, so my posts until I finish will all be sneak peeks at what I’ve done during the day.)
I think you have introduced me to my new favorite animal. 😀

Oh boy! Rocky has a fan! He’s a one of a kind, and first appeared in the author’s book, “Spam VS the Vampire”.
I’ve been having a quick browse through your blog — very enjoyable, and I look forward to reading more (after my painting marathon is over)!

I also like Rocky, and I love the last panel when Spam and Rocky are looking into the sky with the moon. For my it stands for the fact that you can be different and be friends nevertheless.

There’s a lot of that going on in this book — but I never thought about it specifically that way until now. Thanks!
