The Disappearing Fish

I’ve taken a day off of painting today — it was time for some life-things that needed to be taken care of (eventually the laundry HAS to get done), and preparation for a trip to Toronto to go to the Toronto Comics Arts Festival, or TCAF! More about that soon, and hopefully I’ll be able to make posts from there!

So I’m going to back up a wee bit in our story and present a page that evokes warmth and homeliness enough for any cat person. Also I don’t think I’ve posted any panels with Darcy, Spam’s human mom, yet, so here she is!

Spam and Renfrew are too late — the marvellous fish is no more. But Darcy is always prepared — and used to Spam bringing home the occasional guest. His little brother would like more than his share, but after the day Spam has had, he is not in the mood to be indulgent. And Darcy knows that guest raccoons begin to stink like… uh, fish, after a certain period, so no pyjama party for Spam and Renfrew!

(In case you’re just tuning in: Spam and the Sasquatch is an upcoming graphic novel written by Elizabeth Ann Scarborough with visual storytelling by me! I’m in the middle of an epic paint-a-thon, so my posts until I finish will all be sneak peeks at what I’ve done during the day. My regular Technique-of-the-Week Saturday posts are on hold until I get this graphic novel done. )
