Summer Art Challenge Day 24 — making art every day!
I’ve embarked on a multi-day project, which I’ll post when it’s done. It started last night when I decided to listen to the Music Muse instead of the Art Muse, and ended up without the time to finish a project before bedtime. This inspired a little story involving my two muses and their relationship, and since I hadn’t drawn Melody before (though I’ve written about her), I realized I couldn’t just launch into drawing the story without a bit of character design. So I did a quick sketch of her, just to kind of get an idea of her hairstyle, the shape of her face, and her costume. This is kind of rough, but enough for me to go on for the story. I’ll do her a nicer, and more thorough, character sketch later on. In this one she’s echoing an earlier sketch I did of Iris!
This is delightful! Now I have to think about my muses…. So I guess you are an inspiration to me as well.

Hi Jessica! Thanks so much for stopping by — I’m glad you like it! I just had a quick browse through your blog and really liked what I read, so I’ve subscribed (didn’t see a “follow” button).

I think “follow” is the same as “subscribe” in this case, though I am not expert on the mysteries of WordPress! I think I followed yours.

Indeed you did, and thanks! I get an e-mail note when people follow. My blog has a black bar up at the top with the follow option and a couple of other things; I didn’t see one on yours. Anything I follow through that comes up in my “reader” which I get to by clicking the little WordPress logo in the left-hand corner of the bar. Maybe it’s shut off in your settings. It’s a good thing to have visible, because some people will follow on WordPress, but might not want an e-mail subscription.
